Savannah Wilson, Principal
Hi Davenport A+ students and families! I am looking forward to my first year here at Davenport A+. This such a special school and community, and I know it is going to be a great year!
Here's a little bit about me! I attended undergrad at Appalachian State University where I majored in Spanish Education. I also have a Master’s degree from Appalachian State in Romance Languages: K-12 Spanish Teaching as well as a Master’s in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. I am currently pursuing a graduate certificate from Appalachian State in Applied Educational Research. I taught all levels of high school Spanish for 13 years in various counties around North Carolina, most recently teaching for 7 years at Watauga High School. I began my career in adminstration as an Assistant Principal at South Caldwell before finding my new home here at Davenport A+!
I live in Boone, and love spending time with my husband and my son. My son is 3 years old and is the coolest and sweetest little boy in the world! My husband is a high school math teacher at Watauga High School. He also coaches boy’s basketball and the newly sanctioned women’s flag football team at Watauga, so you’ll most often find me at sporting events around the conference.
I love to travel, and I have visited 22 countries (so far)! In my spare time I enjoy lifting weights, reading, watching TV, and coloring.
